What Does Body Composition Mean?

Body composition, within the context of health and wellness is generally used to refer to the cumulative percentage of fat tissue in the body; separate from vital constituents including internal organs, bone tissue, and muscle mass. A person’s body composition is proportionate to their height and weight, therefore, variables account for individual biological measurements. This measure is commonly used as a denominator for ascertaining the general health in people.

The application of body composition is used as a scientific measure to evaluate individual health based on relative biological factors such as height and weight. Furthermore, specific procedures and tools are implemented to effectively calibrate numerical data like body mass index, or BMI, to demonstrate proportional aspects of the human body based on general health.
